All Girls like to be Princess

Girls, lady, granny whom will say NO to this? Every single feminine loves to be treated as princess.
When they are a little girl… they play pretend to be princesses.
When they are a lady… they like to be treated as princesses…
When they are granny… they have senior citizen priority everywhere…

When I received princesses order… I was thrilled.  It was definitely a big challenge for me as I never had any experience on this before.  As usual, alot of homework need to be done… searching for some information, pictures, and video clip.  Google and flickr definitely have the best reference job and i finally created my own master piece.

I did two princesses order last week, one was a 1kg chocolate cake and the other was 25 cupcakes princess theme.

Cake decorated with fondant was my first art piece.
My online research shows that princesses are always stay in a castle cake but guess I was not that expert to create a castle yet. So, I decorated the cake somesort like a “flower castle” with Belle, Snow White and Cinderella figurine cake topper.  Then, at the cake wall, I covered with fondant wording and some simple window hearts.

Due to big cream cake, it has to be stored in the fridge, but fondant never likes fridge.  Anyway, the whole cake need to be stored in the refrigerator.  It was very embarrassing that when i deliver the cake, fondant melted and princesses fell down…

Learned from this experience, I decided to insert a spaghetti as a stabilizer for those princesses on my princess cupcakes order 2 days later.

Cupcake was bake early in the morning and it was decorated in the afternoon. Now, my princesses can stand on the cupcakes perfectly!  The final results was stunning…  i created a recycle cupcake tier for 25 cupcakes.

The perfect match:
cupcake size = ~ 2.4″
Big box size to allocate 25 cupcakes = 13.5″ x 13.5″
small box size to allocate 9 cupcakes = 9″ x 9″

So the tips was, big box line up with 16 cupcakes at the edge and store the 9″ small box in the middle with 9 cupcakes.  cupcakes will be showcase on top of the 9″ box where else, 16 cupcakes will stay at the bottom.

I used satay sticks (cut to length) to hold the fondant figurines in place. I considered using spaghetti sticks too, but I was so paranoid that the sticks would be too brittle!
Anyway, nice job on the decorations…
Oh, and by the way, I too learnt the hard way that fondant must NOT be refrigerated! :D

Hi! Just wondering how much are your cupcakes?
